You can train the long or short head (or medial/lateral) bicep with more emphasis, but not specifically the 'middle'. The peak has more to do with genetics, or just how large your bicep is over-all.
I have a question luimarco... I'm on a five day split with some very intense workouts I do about 20 sets a workout and my split is in this order: Chest, Back, Legs, Arms, Shoulders Now my question is is this too much for a natural bodybuilder? In the past couple of days I have been hearing a lot about how natural bodybuilders shouldn't train so much because they can't rest enough and they'll overtrain... But I'm afraid to train less, I feel like it would be slacking... What should I do?
- Hmmm. Drug companies make all the whey protein, eh? For the most part whey isolate is "cleaner" than much of the so-called "food" people buy at the grocery store. And I don't agree with your "slippery slope" theory that whey leads to every other training supplement (although nothing wrong with those supps). - I agree with you for the most part, but there is alot of quality whey that is inexpensive, and there are numerous studies that demonstrate the health benefits of whey protein isolate (over straight milk protein) including helping your immune system. It's also one of the most bio-available proteins. So I do believe there is still a distinct benefit to including whey protein in your diet.

- Your point of view about protein shakes may be holding you back... whey protein and creatine are natural food products, even if in a powder form. Just because packaged by people doesn't make them unnatural or "easy way". By your logic, then a can of tuna is unnatural (because 'man' put it in a can), or cheese is unnatural (b/c 'man' processed it from 'natural' milk). Natural supplements are made to help recovery so you can train "harder", not easier.

- OK, I can see that you are quite set in your opinion (which I believe is mistaken), so I suppose there is no point in discussing this further. FYI, most protein shakes are not full of "chemicals"... but if you are not using any supplements, be sure to get some expert advice on your nutrition plan so you are consuming enough macro and micronutrients, as well as staying well hydrated. Hey Lui it seems me and you have similar muscle formation genetics. I too have the "short" biceps like you that dont stretch all the way from our shoulder to the beginning of our forearm. Thus leaving a big space between our bicep and our elbow when doing the front double bicep pose. Any thoughts on that?
When you deplete carbs, your body essentially gets "flatter", carbing up after 3 weeks as lui states means to take in more carbs and he'll come in looking a lot more full than he is now. Hence, carbing up = eating more carbs.
